"And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise."-I Chronicles 16:35
"Now therefore arise, O Lord God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O Lord God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness."
-II Chronicles 6:41
"Salvation belongeth to the Lord."-Psalm 3:8
"All flesh shall see the salvation of God."-Luke 3:6
Paul, being sent to the Gentiles to preach the Gospel, longed deeply for his people to be saved. We should be able to relate as saints in this very dark world. Many are lost to religious systems that keep them from true salvation. Some are even zealous without true knowledge of the nature and character of God.
The Gospel is simple to understand, but it must be lived out. Jesus said if any man follow me , let him deny himself, pick up his cross and follow. The Gospel is a path to obedience to God's holy Word. It is not a license to sin. It is about much more than mercy for past sins it is also about deliverance from temptation that we may not continue in sin. The sin defenders of this day like to use Romans 10:9-10 as a license to sin. They say they believe and that is enough. Still, the same verse names Christ as Lord. Jesus said, "Why do you call me Lord and do not the things I say?"
