What is liberty?
As I had so many questions in this area, I am certain some of you do as well. Does the book of Galatians tell us to be rid of the law? How then is it that Jesus Himself said, he did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it? Which parts were fulfilled?
Here is a brief overview of Galatians 5:
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." -Gl.5:1
We are free from the ceremonial law. We don't come to God by way of sacrifices and paying of alms but by worship in truth and Spirit. This is made clear by understanding that the main disput that Paul had with the Jewish believers was about circumcision. This being an outward symbol which was as it is written a shadow of that which would come. As believers our hearts have been circumcised.
"For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith."- Gl. 5:5
We having obtained a promise from God share in His righteousness. This is what we hope for, this what we live to see. We no longer care to defend our own honor but for God to be magnified through our lives. it is this change of heart which allows us to be free from sin.
"For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another."-Gl. 5:13
Many in this generation mistake liberty for license to their own demise . How bad of a day it will be to hear depart form me worker of iniquity. This is not love to allow death to reign, but to expose it for what it is , this is love. We are only truly free when we walk by the Spirit of God . Every other work will be burned in the end. What is the use of vain labor. Serve God, trust Him.
The evidence of our salvation is in the character of our walk, not that we may not stumble but that we get back up. The fruit of the Spirit grows in His people and those that have it not, are none of His.
"And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."- Gl. 5:24-25
I am only a brother...
Can I tell you about my elder brother Jesus?
